Welcome
I am an artist inspired by nature, history, and a more mindful way of living.
As well as paintings, I create unique textile artworks that combine felt, sewing, and found materials.
My work blends romantic, vintage, and playful styles, shaped by my love of landscapes, coastal scenes, and the beauty of everyday moments. Each piece is carefully wet-felted and then slowly hand-stitched, using scraps of fabric, lace, thread, and antique textiles to give forgotten materials a second or even third life.
My paintings, mainly in acrylic and sometimes watercolour, are inspired by boat journeys from earlier years. My sketchbooks are filled with memories of sea and sky, storms and sunshine, and the ever-changing moods of nature.
Along with years of exploring little islands off the coast of Scotland I am always inspired by the landscape and our ancestors that lived and worked on it, their marks still left behind on the land, and the archaeology within the landscape make you feel you can almost hear the whispers of voices in the wind telling stories of the past that you can immerse yourself into, these are the emotions I try and convey.
Other paintings explore the places I have visited around the coast of the uk like the rugged cliffs of northumbria and rolling hills of Yorkshire and Cumbria and the places of these are written in the titles.
